Welcome to the 13 Days of Halloween
Happy Thanksgiving err’body (I really can’t pull that off, can I?). Anywho, this is my Thanksgiving edition of the 13 Days and today I will be sharing a lighthearted (not to be scrutinized or criticized) list of some of the creepy little things I’m most thankful for. My list will be short, it will be odd, and it will be entertaining. So take a break from stuffing your turkey or face (wherever you happen to be in this day of giving thanks) and join me–won’t you?
10 Creepy Little Things I’m Thankful For
- I’m thankful that this possibility exists:
Because then I can do this:
2. I’m thankful that this song exists:
Because whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed by the aggressive consumerism and over saturation of Christmas, I can crank it and sing from the top of my lungs while lopping head’s off of neighborhood snowmen. Just kidding. I don’t do that last one . . . unless that little jackhole Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow . . . then no snowman is safe. Ya hear that Frosty?! Errr . . . yeah . . . sorry. I’m okay.
3. I’m thankful that this color exists:
In fact, I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to this color. Black isn’t a color you say? Whatevs, dude. Here’s the thing: most scientists would agree with you because black is the absence of light, and therefore, color. Yeah, so basically, black absorbs all color but doesn’t reflect it. However, most artists would disagree because black is the presence of all colors. It is the color of all colors. It is an achromatic color, literally a color without color or hue. Ya dig?

4. I am thankful for the creepy little talent of Charles Addams:
Because without his existence, my spirit family would not exist. I’m not going to gush about them here. I’ve done my fair share of that here and here.
5. I’m thankful for the creepy creativity of Tim Burton:
Because watching a Tim Burton movie is like hanging out in my favorite place for a couple of hours.

6. I’m thankful for all things witchy:

Because I feel a sense of calm and power all at once. There is an unspoken bond between those that feel the same pull and choose to see the magic that is all around us, not just on Halloween, but every day.

7. I’m thankful for Az:
(04.01.00 ~ 05.01.14)
Because every witch needs a familiar. And my little black kitty named Azrael rode shotgun with me for 14 years; I loved him his whole life. There was none cooler than he.
“No longer by my side . . . but forever in my heart.”
8. I’m thankful for these moments:
Because they remind me that even though life can be one big shit fest, it can also be fun.
9. I’m thankful for my personal versions of “Lock, Stock, and Barrel”:
Because they’re the best of me (creepy or otherwise) and I dig them.
10. I’m thankful for these two:
Because of them, my creepy lil self exists and because, well, I’m the best of them.

Until next time . . .
