Welcome to the 13 Days of Halloween
It’s time for another bit of random fun. If you’ve checked out my About This Blog page, you know a bit about my annual Halloween party. This party started out in my garage which I would transform into a haunted wonderland. The past few years, however, I have commandeered the BBF’s house and made them my more than willing cohorts. Every room has its own theme: living room is the witches coven, bathroom is the bloodbath, dining room–vampire lair, kitchen–mad scientist’s lab. The party always has a strict “must wear a costume to enter” policy. Beware: If you try to attend without wearing a costume we’ve been known to accost you and paint your face, dishevel your hair and add accessories until we feel you are party-worthy. We also prepare Halloween food for your fright and delight. Many of the recipes I share with you are served at our shin-digs. So, this post is a maniacal montage of Halloween’s past. An homage to all of my friends who love Halloween just as much as I do. Enjoy!

Pixie, kobold, elf, and sprite,
All are on their rounds tonight;
In the wan moon’s silver ray,
Thrives their helter-skelter play.
~Joel Benton
Halloween is huge in my house and
we really get into the “spirits” of things.

Shadows of a thousand years rise again unseen,Voices whisper in the trees,“Tonight is Halloween!” ~Dexter Kozen

Hold on, man. We don’t go anywhere with “scary,” “spooky,” “haunted,” or “forbidden” in the title. ~From Scooby-Doo
Well, Shaggy and Scooby may not go there, but my friends and I sure do! Stay tuned for more party photo fun.
Until next time . . .
